Justin Krumb

Producer / Director

Founder of RoughCuts Productions in 1994, Justin has since worked as a producer/director with a focus on feature documentary and television production. His work has taken him to countless countries and the subject matter ranges from adventure travel and sports documentary to humanitarian and environmental issues.

His credits include The ESPN X-games, The Surfer's Journal, FUEL TV’s First Hand, Wave of Compassion and The Next Wave: A Tsunami Relief Story. Plus, of course, the recently completed Minds In The Water.

Justin’s work has earned him an Emmy Award for best documentary, an X-Dance award for best film score, and multiple regional Emmy nominations for directing, editing and camera work in long form television, documentaries and PSA's.

TransparentSea Voyage

TransparentSea is an awareness campaign aimed at highlighting coastal environmental issues, with particular attention given to cetaceans (whales and dolphins) and the waters they inhabit.

The first journey (Byron Bay to Bondi, Australia, 2009) successfully highlighted the plight of humpback whales and the threat faced by Japanese whaling fleets.

The second (California, October, 2011) traces the southern migration of the California Grey Whale from Santa Barbara to Baja, Mexico with an emphasis on engaging key coastal community groups and drawing awareness to the causes they support.
