Lauren Lindsey Hill: "I've been pleasantly surprised by the clear weather which brings out a juxtaposition of colours - the kelp, water, sky ... and in stark contrast to this is the oil rigs we've been sailing by. And how busy the highway is, being able to observe it, running so close to the ocean. It's interesting to see such development right next to abundant natural resources. And that's part of the TransparentSea mission - to celebrate the Californian coast and bring light to the areas of the coast that need preservation and protection."
